Who dat!
Saints, Vikings, a half hour from now.
I’ll probably bitch about the referees in about forty-five minutes.
WHO DAT! Touchdown on the first drive.

I thought the officiating was bad earlier in playoffs. I missed most of the first period, so maybe the Blackhawks ate the children of the referees, but in the second so far it has been atrocious.
They should have little electrodes on the referees for when they make bad calls. That goal-tender interference call on Hossa was one of the biggest crocks of shit I’ve seen all spring — second only to the called off Caps goal in Capitals/Montreal game seven.
As it stands now, however, Chicago is up 3-2 in the game (And the series, how ’bout that) with 22 minutes left in regulation.
The only good thing about Montreal winning?
I don’t have to hear about Crosby for a while. Woo!
In overtime!
What a return. The only way this would be sweeter would be if it were against the dreaded (but currently preferred to the cheating Montreal) Pittsburgh.
From the phantom call in the San Jose/Detroit game (seriously!), to the mess that has been the Boston/Philly game…
The biggest problem in the NHL right now are the referees.
Habs 2-1. Because they waved off a goal for a bullshit reason.
Hate to say this, but Go Pittsburgh. I hope they sweep the Habs, four shutouts. Try waving that off, bitches.
Two blatant tripping calls missed by the referees in two minutes. Habs players in their own defensive end, tripping Green then Ovechkin. Referees didn’t call either. Why not? I can’t see any reason, other than feeling like they’d already called enough penalties on the Habs.
Whatever; the officiating is bullshit and the Caps have to beat the other team AND the referees, at least right now.
Marian Hossa just potentially ended the season of a Nashville player in a similar way to how Ovechkin knocked out a Chicago player earlier in the season. Let’s see if the NHL acts and suspends Hossa as they did Ovechkin.
Otherwise, I think the theory that Ovechkin was punished to stem the tide of criticism over the Cooke non-suspension will be nearly confirmed…
Just sayin’.
When a non-goalie player grabs the puck in the crease and throws it to a teammate, that’s a hand pass at best and most likely ought to be a penalty shot.
The season series between Washington and Pittsburgh ended the way I wanted: A sweep. It was sweetened by Ovechkin tying Sidney Crosby for goals. Ovie has played eight fewer games, making the feat more impressive, and he may well pass 50 goals this season.
The sweep means little to nothing if they face each other in playoffs, but it’s still sweet to have beat the Stanley Cup Champions in every meeting.
This should be an amazing playoffs.
