I sympathize.
Michelle Malkin has a story up about a poor downtrodden immigrant who posed as a Police Officer and attempted to pull a woman over. Quoth the story she quotes:
“He said it was an accident and didn’t really mean to do what he was doing although he purchased the lights and hard wired them into his vehicle,” said Zimmerman.
I sympathize with him. I accidentally wire police lights into my car about twice a month. It’s an easy mistake to make.
In all seriousness, let’s be honest here: He’s an illegal (strike one), he was impersonating a police officer (strike two), he had no valid driver’s license (strike three), and he had a fake I.D. (strike… four). He also speaks no English. So he can make it into the country, buy police lights, and modify his car to use them, but he can’t even pick up a single word of English. And here’s where I make this about politics.
This guy would have been given amnesty, though. He would have slipped through the checks. This criminal would be on the path to American citizenship.
As an aside, any time a criminal who does something that obviously requires planning and forethought claims “I didn’t mean to do it” we should launch them into space as a punishment for insulting our intelligence. “I didn’t mean to construct a Rube Goldberg machine designed to decapitate my wife on payday, your honor…” I understand real accidents. What the moron in this case really meant was “I didn’t mean to get caught.”
